In 2007 we started on a journey, one that would take us far beyond our original vision of what Arch 197 could be.

The idea of rescuing Arch 197 from its damp and dungeon like state was the brain child of Josh Francois a young Street dancer who now 21 is Managing Director. Josh had been inspired by the likes of Michael Jackson and Missy Elliot (and who had embarked on a career that has included winning the 2006 U.D.O Championships) decided that Street dancers across London would benefit enormously by having a dedicated street dance studio. As it turned out Chiswick not only needed street dance but also has an appetite for many other forms of dance and a desire to get fit.

After doing a deal with Transport for London and working with his mother (Jackie Batista) and his Uncle (Joe Brown) they acquired the tenancy of Arch 197 and set about raising local funding to match a major personal investment in the project. After two years of incredible financial and physical challenges which included a complete refurbishment the derelict space has been reborn as a professional dance studio.

Josh Francois vision was to provide the many up and coming Hip hop and break dancers with a studio designed to help develop their raw talent. The end result has also given a home to many other dance styles as diverse as Belly Dance and Latin Ballroom.
